Why everyone keeps coming back.

Kerala Nook Indian Cuisine stands out as a must-visit destination for authentic South Indian flavors right in the heart of Scarborough. Specializing in Kerala-style fare, this inviting restaurant on Midland Ave offers a culinary journey rich in tradition and vibrant taste profiles that are sure to delight both the adventurous foodie and the comfort food lover alike.

At Kerala Nook, diners are treated to a menu deeply rooted in the spice-laden, aromatic cooking of Kerala. Among the highlights are their celebrated Erachi Choru selections, featuring tender mutton, chicken, and beef options served over perfectly steamed rice, each bite bursting with homegrown spices that evoke the warmth and soulfulness of South India. The intricate layering of flavors in their Biriyani trays—especially the mutton and chicken varieties prepared for sharing—showcases an impressive mastery of this beloved dish, with fragrant basmati rice infused with saffron and slow-cooked meats that melt in your mouth.

Kerala Nook also offers enticing options from their Mandhi menu, such as the Kanthari Chicken Mandi and Afghani Mandhi, where smoky, tender meats meld with subtly spiced rice in a dish that’s both exotic and comforting. For those seeking classic Kerala street-food inspired combos, menu items like the Appam Chicken 65 and Egg Roast, served with soft and fluffy appams, add a delightful textural contrast that complements their bold, fiery flavors.

The atmosphere here is wonderfully unpretentious — cozy and humble, with Malayalam and Tamil tunes playing softly in the background, creating an authentic ambiance that transports you straight to the coastline of Kerala. The staff’s friendliness and attentiveness make every visit feel personal; patrons frequently praise the warm service from Vincy, noted for her excellent menu recommendations and impeccable timing that enhances the dining experience without being intrusive.

Whether you’re dropping in for a late-night feast—Kerala Nook’s doors stay open until 5 a.m., catering perfectly to those craving comforting, spicy food after hours—or looking to enjoy a traditional lunch, this spot promises consistent quality and soul-satisfying meals. The highly recommended dishes such as the beef fry with parotta or the milky garlic chicken reflect authentic recipes that keep customers returning year after year.

In sum, Kerala Nook Indian Cuisine is more than just a restaurant; it’s a flavorful celebration of Kerala’s culinary heritage that blends authenticity with approachable charm. For anyone in Scarborough seeking an irresistible taste of South India, this restaurant offers an experience that is as memorable as it is delicious.

I’ve been a regular customer here since the restaurant first opened about 5–6 years ago. Over the years, I’ve ordered their biryani countless times, and it has consistently been excellent. I still visit occasionally just to relive that experience. While some of the curries can be a bit hit-or-miss depending on the day, the biryani has always remained spot on and is easily one of the most reliable dishes on their menu. On my latest visit, the Al Fahm Mandi completely stole the show. It was outstanding and, honestly, the best I’ve had in the GTA. The flavors took me straight back to Kerala with that authentic taste and balance done right. If you’re looking for genuine Kerala-style rice dishes, this place continues to deliver where it matters most.

I had a wonderful experience with the service provided by Vincy. She was warm, attentive, and made sure we felt comfortable throughout our meal. Her timing was perfect—she checked on us regularly without being intrusive, and she was quick to respond to any requests we had. Vincy’s friendly attitude and professionalism really stood out. She explained the menu clearly, gave great recommendations, and made us feel truly welcomed. The overall dining experience was definitely elevated because of her service. Highly appreciate her dedication and hospitality. Great job, Vincy!

Tried the beef fry and parotta, the classic Kerala lunch meal, and it was good and authentic. Remarkably this place is open till 5 am so if you have late night cravings for spicy food this would be a good place to visit. Interior is very humble, with Malayalam or Tamil music playing. Staff are great

The food is kill We ordered the mutton pepper roast and the beef pepper roast with parota. Being a non Malayali made me want to try more after tasting these. The issue with this place was the order issuance being always done only at the entry desk which creates issues if any extras need to be ordered , but apart from that a great experience. Whoever reads these please be rest assured for ur tastebuds to a treat and dive in.

Tried the Samovar tea at Kerala Nook in Scarborough and it genuinely surprised me. Perfect balance of strong chai flavor, fresh spices, and that authentic ‘samovar’ depth you don’t get in most places here. Not overly sweet, not watered down—just proper Kerala-style tea done right. Definitely worth stopping by just for this.

Great food and service. We went late night and a waitress with short hair was helping us out. She was very friendly and we had a great time. Ordered kuttichira and thalassery Biriyani along with beef roast, porotta and Sharjah shake. Everything was great. Only issue is that we would like it better if the place was cleaner. Floors and toilet seemed to be dirty.
